The Chain I Didn’t See Coming – And Why I Started hiw9 (Health Is Wealth, Redefined)
The room went quiet. My heart pounded. Everything I thought I knew about my life – my work, my drive, my ability to “push through” – suddenly felt like a lie. But what really broke me wasn’t the diagnosis itself. It was looking back and realizing I had ignored the warning signs for years. Crushing stress that never let up. Nights where I lay awake, mind racing, barely sleeping more than four or five hours. Constant fatigue, brain fog, unexplained weight changes, inflammation I brushed off as “just getting older”. I told myself it was normal. Everyone’s stressed. Everyone’s tired. I was wrong. And I believe those years of unchecked stress and broken sleep played a major role in where I ended up.
That realization hit harder than the illness itself. Because it wasn’t random. It was a chain – one I didn’t see until it was almost too late.
The Chain I Lived In

1. Chronic Stress & Resilience Overload Deadlines. Pressure. Always being “on”. My body stayed in fight-or-flight mode for years. Cortisol levels stayed high. I felt wired but exhausted. I thought that was strength. It was the first link.
2. Destruction of Deep Sleep (and sometimes Migraines That Came With It) The stress kept me awake. Racing thoughts at 3 a.m. Waking up feeling like I hadn’t slept at all. Tension headaches turned into full migraines. Poor sleep became normal. I didn’t realize it was amplifying everything else.
3. Build-up of Minor Issues (Energy, Metabolism, Inflammation) The fatigue got worse. I gained weight in strange places. Inflammation crept in – joint aches, sluggishness. I blamed diet, work, age. These were the early warning signs – minor enough to ignore, big enough to cause damage over time.
4. The Risk of Critical Problems Left unchecked, that chain accelerates. Inflammation becomes chronic. Metabolism breaks down. The immune system weakens. Heart issues. Autoimmune flare-ups. In my case, I believe the long-term stress and sleep debt contributed heavily to what happened. I’m not a doctor, and I’m not saying stress and poor sleep cause health issues for everyone. But the science is clear: chronic stress and sleep disruption are major risk factors. They weaken the body’s defenses. They create an environment where serious problems can take root.

I had two choices: Stay angry and helpless. Or take action – and make sure no one else walks the same path blindly.
I dove into research: TCM, Feng Shui, biohacking, sleep science, stress physiology. I learned the chain can be broken at any point. I learned small, consistent changes – better sleep habits, stress rituals, simple health checks – can shift the trajectory dramatically. And I learned I wasn’t alone.
